Born in Romford, Essex and raised in South London, Tar Ráe grew up in a musical household listening to Gospel, R&B and Afrobeats. With a love of music that arose from a very young age, it was inevitable that one day she would explore down a career path in music of her own.
The British-Nigerian singer-songwriter kickstarted her singing journey at just five years old when she joined her church’s choir, after impressing many teachers at her school with her voice, and being encouraged to start using it more.
Citing artists such as Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Brandy and Chris Brown as inspirations, the London native wrote her very first song at just fourteen years old after previously writing fictional story books and uploading them online. Two years later, she decided to pursue music seriously following a conversation with her father.
First attending studio sessions in 2019, Tar Ráe began recording original music before sharing her debut single ‘See You’ in 2021. A Contemporary R&B single by the name of ‘Insane’ followed behind in 2022 with the release of R&B ballad ‘Too Bad’ arriving a year later in 2023.
Catching the eyes of many reputable songwriters and producers, the artist is ready to take it up a notch with a catalogue of brand new music.
